Dr. Alba del Pozo García is a Lecturer in Spanish Language at the University of Leeds' School of Languages, Cultures and Societies. She specializes in Spanish language pedagogy, CLIL methodologies, and language assessment. As the Leeds Institute of Teaching Excellence (LITE) Feedback Incubator Lead and co-director of the Centre for Excellence in Language Teaching (CELT), she drives pedagogical innovation in higher education. She holds a PhD in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2013), with research on gender, sickness, and science in Spanish modernist literature. Previously, she taught at the University of Nottingham, Birmingham, and Instituto Cervantes.
Her research focuses on language teaching methodologies, particularly peer assessment, CLIL integration, and the evolving role of modern languages in UK universities. She co-edited ELEUK ampliando horizontes (2024) and coordinated special issues on intercultural challenges in Spanish teaching. Professional memberships include the Higher Education Academy (HEA Fellow) and executive board roles in ELEUK.
Her work bridges literary scholarship and pedagogy, addressing critical intersections between language, culture, and intercultural competence. Key contributions include exploring MOOC integration in language courses and analyzing the socio-cultural dimensions of language education policies.
