معرفی
Marta Del Pozo Ortea is an Associate Professor in the Department of Global Languages and Cultures at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She holds a PhD in Spanish Literature from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2012), an MFA in Creative Writing in Spanish from New York University (2013), an MA in Hispanic Literatures and Cultures from UMass Amherst (2007), and a BA in English Philology from the University of Oviedo, Spain (2003). She is also the Founding Editor of Quantum Prose.
Her research is situated within the posthumanist paradigm, focusing on cultural and literary artifacts produced in the Spanish-speaking world, particularly the Iberian peninsula, during the 20th and 21st centuries. She advocates for a transdisciplinary worldview that decenters anthropocentric traditions in literary, epistemic, and cultural studies. Her work examines hybrid pieces at the interface of literature, science, technology, and visual studies across various media including literature, film, documentary, and transmedia.
Her scholarly output demonstrates a consistent exploration of the intersections between science and humanities, particularly quantum physics concepts applied to literary and visual analysis. She has published extensively on contemporary Spanish authors like Agustín Fernández Mallo and Remedios Varo, examining how scientific concepts inform artistic creation. Her work often addresses posthumanist concepts, new materialisms, and the relationship between consciousness and matter.

As both a scholar and creative writer, Del Pozo Ortea bridges theoretical and creative work, with her poetry receiving critical acclaim for refreshing themes and forms with an avant-garde approach alien to traditional Spanish realism. Her translation work further demonstrates her engagement with cross-cultural literary exchange, particularly between Spanish and English language traditions.
