Caroline Campbell is an Associate Professor at the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies, University of Leeds, where she has held various academic and leadership roles since 1994, with a break between 2000 and 2008. She is currently active in teaching and research, focusing on language education and academic development within the university’s broader curriculum initiatives.
Her educational background includes:
- MA (Hons) in French from the University of Aberdeen
- PGCE from the University of Warwick
- Diploma from the Chartered Management Institute
Caroline Campbell's research centers on innovative practices in higher education, particularly in English for Academic Purposes (EAP), curriculum design, and academic integrity. She champions the concept of students as partners in educational development and has led major curriculum transformation projects such as the Language and Intercultural Understanding theme within the Leeds Curriculum. Her work bridges pedagogy, assessment, and employability, emphasizing inclusive and student-centered learning.
Her research projects show a consistent focus on teaching excellence and academic integrity in higher education, supported by internal funding from the Leeds Institute for Teaching Excellence (LITE). These include a 2017 Teaching Enhancement Project evaluating Broadening in the Leeds Curriculum and an ongoing LITE Fellowship (2020–present) on academic integrity strategies, conducted in collaboration with Dr. Lorna Waddington from the School of History.
