Al-Karim Samnani is an Associate Professor of Management at the Odette School of Business, University of Windsor. He holds a Ph.D. in Human Resources Management from York University, an M.A. in Industrial Relations from the London School of Economics, and a B.A. in Human Resource Management from York University.
His research focuses on workplace bullying, leadership behaviors, HR practices, and organizational psychology. He explores how leadership styles and organizational structures influence workplace safety, civility, and employee well-being. Notable areas include bullying dynamics during union organizing drives, the role of charismatic leadership in fostering respectful norms, and the impact of social play on harassment norms.
Dr. Samnani has received the Odette New Researcher Award (2014 and 2016) and multiple best paper awards. His work appears in journals like Personnel Review, Journal of Business Ethics, and Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal.
His professional experience includes roles as an HR consultant and limited-term faculty positions before joining Odette in 2013. He has presented at leading conferences such as the Academy of Management and Administrative Sciences Association of Canada.
