Talal Al-Hayale is a Professor of Accounting at the Odette School of Business, University of Windsor. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Wales, UK (1990), an M.S. in Finance (1985), and a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Mosul, Iraq (1978). His research focuses on accounting ethics, financial reporting, earnings management, and auditing. Notable contributions include studies on audit fees, managerial behavior, and the impact of computerized systems on accounting practices. Al-Hayale has authored books and articles in top journals like the Journal of Business Finance & Accounting and Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting. He has received grants for research on IFRS adoption and cross-border transportation companies. His work often bridges theoretical and practical challenges in accounting education and professional ethics.
Al-Hayale’s career spans roles in Jordan, Qatar, and Canada, including academic leadership in program development and teaching at the Odette School since 2001. His presentations and conference contributions highlight his commitment to advancing accounting practices and education globally.
