Jason MacGregor is an Associate Professor and holds the endowed Roderick Holmes Chair of Accountancy at Baylor University. His academic work focuses on auditing practices, ethical decision-making, and financial reporting quality. He teaches courses including Auditing Attestation and Assurance Services, Business and Professional Ethics for Accountants, and Managerial Accounting.
Dr. MacGregor earned his PhD in Business Administration from the University of Florida (2007) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Windsor's Odette School of Business (2000). He maintains active membership in the American Accounting Association since 2006.
His research examines critical intersections of auditing, ethics, and regulation. Key areas include:
- Audit fee structures and economic implications
- Ethical decision-making in accounting professions
- Regulatory compliance (SOX, SEC)
- Fraud prevention and financial reporting integrity
- Behavioral aspects of auditor judgments
