David Van Rijt

David Van Rijt is a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting at the Odette School of Business, University of Windsor. He holds an MBA from Laurentian University and dual certifications as a CPA and CGA. His professional experience spans over three decades in auditing, business development, and accounting education.

Education:

• M.B.A., Laurentian University
• CPA/CGA certifications from the Certified General Accountants Association of Ontario and Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario

Research & Teaching Interests: Focuses on professional accounting practices, audit methodologies, and assurance frameworks, informed by his extensive career in government auditing and instructional roles.

Awards:

• Four-time recipient of Odette Commerce Society's Professor of the Year (Accounting) in 2023/24, 2022/23, 2021/22, and Sessional Professor of the Year in 2019/20
