Ahmed M. Aribi, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Hematology & Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation at City of Hope, where he also serves as a staff physician. Previously, he held an Instructor position at MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Department of Leukemia. His clinical expertise focuses on leukemia and hematopoietic cell transplantation.
Education & Experience:
- M.D. from Alfateh University School of Medicine (Libya, 1996)
- Internal Medicine Residency at Alfateh University affiliated hospitals (1997) and Southern Illinois University (2002–2003)
- Postdoctoral Fellowship in Neuro-Pharmacology at Baylor College of Medicine (2002–2003)
- Fellowships in Hematology at UCLA (2008–2011) and MD Anderson (2005–2007)
Research Interests: Dr. Aribi’s work centers on advanced therapies for hematologic malignancies, including CAR-T cell therapy, immunotherapy strategies for leukemia, and optimizing conditioning regimens for hematopoietic cell transplantation. He also investigates the impact of SARS-CoV-2 on transplant recipients and immunocompromised patients.
Publications: His recent work explores topics such as bendamustine-based lymphodepletion regimens for lymphoma, WT1-mutated AML treatment, and the role of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines in reducing GVHD incidence post-transplant. These studies highlight his focus on translational research bridging clinical practice and novel therapies.
Memberships: Active member of the American College of Physicians and American Medical Association.
