Lohith Gowda, MD, MRCP, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Hematology) at the Yale School of Medicine. His research focuses on precision medicine approaches to hematologic cancers, particularly leveraging cellular immunotherapies like CAR T-cell therapy and stem cell transplantation. He leads multidisciplinary efforts to improve outcomes for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma, emphasizing long-term survivorship and safety of novel therapies.
Education: MD from Rajiv Gandhi University (2004), followed by residency at Drexel University College of Medicine (2011), fellowships at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (2014) and NY Presbyterian Cornell (2016), and advanced training at MD Anderson Cancer Center (2017).
Research Interests: Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, CAR T-cell therapy efficacy/toxicity, geriatric assessment in oncology, and regenerative medicine applications in blood disorders.
Professional Activities: Member of American Society of Hematology, American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, and Yale Cancer Center's Data Safety Monitoring Committee.
Awards: Recipient of the Young Investigator Award (ACLPSP 2016) and ASH Abstract Achievement Award (2017).
Current Clinical Trials: Sub-investigator in studies evaluating novel CAR T-cell therapies (e.g., TSC-100/101), lymphodepleting strategies, and post-transplantation infection management.
