Douglas W. Sborov, MD, MS is an Associate Professor at the University of Utah - Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI), Department of Internal Medicine - Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies. He serves as Director of the HCI Hematology Disease Center and Plasma Cell Dyscrasias Program, Co-Leader of the Hematologic Malignancies Clinical Trials Research Group, and member of the HCI Experimental Therapeutics Program and International Myeloma Working Group (IMWG). His clinical focus includes blood/marrow transplantation and hematology, with board certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology.

Dr. Sborov's research investigates novel targeted and immunologic therapies for multiple myeloma, serving as principal investigator for multiple plasma cell dyscrasia trials. He actively participates in early drug development and translational collaborations, focusing on BCMA-targeted therapies, bispecific antibodies, and CAR-T cell therapy integration. His work includes pharmacogenomic studies on autologous stem cell transplant outcomes and evaluations of treatment-related toxicities.
Scientific awards include being an elected Huntsman Translational Scholar. He contributes to national clinical trial consortia (U.S. Multiple Myeloma Immunotherapy Consortium) and collaborates on NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology for Multiple Myeloma and Waldenström Macroglobulinemia. His research spans clinical trial design, treatment sequencing, and patient-centered outcomes in hematologic malignancies.
