Adriano Habed is an Assistant Professor in Gender and Postcolonial Studies at the Department of Media and Culture Studies, Utrecht University. He holds a PhD in Political Philosophy and Gender Studies from Utrecht University (2022) and Verona University (2021), and previously studied Philosophy at the University of Turin and Philosophical Anthropology at Radboud University. His work bridges queer theory, postcolonial critique, and feminist philosophy.
Research interests include queer critique, anti-gender movements, postcritique, postcolonial studies, and intersections of race and gender. He explores tensions between critical theory and contemporary political challenges, with a focus on Stuart Hall's legacy and digital communication ethics.
Recent publications address the blurring of boundaries between anti-gender ideologies and feminist/queer discourses, AI in public health, and postcritique methodologies. His 2025 article with S. Täuber et al. analyzes gender transformations, while 2024 works examine ChatGPT's role in HIV prevention and Stuart Hall's critical practice.
External roles involve collaboration with ATGENDER and IALHI, and he has contributed to edited volumes on postcolonial intellectuals and anti-gender discourses. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals on gender equality and global justice.
