Paula Landerreche Cardillo is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Women's & Gender Studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She holds a PhD in Philosophy from DePaul University, an MA in Philosophy with a minor in Psychoanalytic Theory from The New School for Social Research, and a Graduate Certificate in Gender and Sexuality Studies. Her research focuses on the intersections of feminist philosophy, Latin American decolonial theory, and the entanglements of sexual difference with colonial difference.
Key academic contributions include co-editing Political Bodies: Writings on Adriana Cavarero's Political Thought (2024), a volume challenging male-dominated political philosophy canons. She has published in journals like Philosophy Today and APA Studies in Hispanic/Latino Issues in Philosophy, emphasizing themes of embodiment, relationality, and postcolonial critique. Her work bridges Italian feminist thought, Latin American postcolonial critiques, and queer theory.
Recent projects explore Adriana Cavarero's political philosophy, Marx's theories through a decolonial lens, and the ethical dimensions of solidarity in anti-oppression movements. She actively contributes to feminist academic networks and has translated key texts like Enrique Dussel’s The 'Second-Century' Marx.
