Adrian Goycoolea is an Associate Professor of Media and Film at the University of Sussex's School of Media, Arts and Humanities. He holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts (New York) and an MFA from the University of Iowa.
His research explores intersections between queer performance, generative AI, and historical trauma. Notable projects include ¡Viva Chile Mierda! (documenting Pinochet-era atrocities), AI Jetée (an AI-driven remake of Chris Marker's La Jetée), and installations like Personal Effects reconstructing Quentin Crisp's East Village apartment. His work has screened at Rotterdam, Moscow, and BFI London Film Festivals, and been archived by the BFI.
