Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem

Dr Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem is a research academic at the Manchester Fashion Institute (MFI), Manchester Metropolitan University, serving as Project Lead for the UKRI AHRC Digital Fashion Network. He holds a PhD in Fashion Technology (University of Manchester, 2012) and has over 20 years of academic and industry experience. His roles include teaching, research supervision, and ethics governance. Sayem is a Fellow of the Textile Institute, Royal Society of Arts, and Higher Education Academy.

Education: PhD in Fashion Technology (2012, University of Manchester), MSc in Textile & Clothing Engineering (2004, Dresden University of Technology), BSc in Textiles (1999, University of Dhaka).

Research focuses on digital fashion innovation, smart textiles, and sustainability. Key projects include the Digital Fashion Network and Sustainable Materials Innovation initiatives. He leads symposiums like the Digital Fashion Innovation Conference and Sustainable Textile Congress. His research outputs include over 50 publications in top journals like Journal of Cleaner Production and Journal of The Textile Institute.
