Abigail Moncrieff

Abigail Moncrieff is an Associate Professor of Law and Political Science at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, Cleveland State University, and Co-Director of the Center for Health Law and Policy. She holds a Ph.D. in Government from the University of Texas at Austin (2022), a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School (2006, with honors), and a B.A. in English and Political Science from Wellesley College (2002), with additional studies at the University of Geneva as a Fulbright Scholar.

Her research bridges health law, constitutional law, and political theory, addressing intersections of legal, political, and social issues. She has published in top-tier journals like Columbia Law Review and U. Penn Law Review, and is writing a book, Constitutional Technocracy, reimagining the American constitutional framework. Teaching includes Constitutional Law, Contracts, and seminars on healthcare reform and freedom in American law.

Moncrieff co-leads the Center for Health Law and Policy, fostering healthcare law and policy initiatives in Cleveland. Prior to CSU, she taught at Harvard, Penn, NYU, and other institutions, and was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Texas Law School.
