Laura C. Hoffman

Laura C. Hoffman serves as Assistant Professor of Law and Co-Director of the Center for Health Law and Policy at Cleveland State University College of Law. Previously, she held positions as Visiting Professor of Law at CSU Law, Senior Research Fellow at Yale Law School's Solomon Center for Health Law and Policy, Assistant Professor of Law at Seton Hall University School of Law, and Attorney Advisor for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals in Cleveland.

Professor Hoffman holds the following academic credentials:

• LL.M. in Child and Family Law from Loyola University Chicago School of Law
• LL.M. in Law and Government from American University Washington College of Law (concentration in Civil and Constitutional Rights)

Her research centers on Disability Law, Children's Health and Education, and Telemedicine, with significant contributions to healthcare access policy for vulnerable populations. She has developed scholarship addressing palliative care policy, Elder Law, brain injury law, and disability rights within healthcare systems, emphasizing equity and accessibility reforms through legal frameworks.

Professor Hoffman's scholarly work appears in leading publications including the Notre Dame Journal on Legislation, Journal of Law, Medicine and Ethics, and Health Matrix: Journal of Law-Medicine. Her 2023 book chapter on telehealth examines pandemic-era legal adaptations, reflecting her consistent focus on technology-mediated healthcare access.
