Marci Hoffman is a Lecturer in Residence and Director of the Law Library at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Berkeley Law). She has held various roles since joining in 1991, including Associate Director (2006–2022) and Director (2022–present). Previously, she worked at Georgetown University Law Library and the University of Minnesota Law Library, specializing in international and foreign law. Hoffman holds an M.L.I.S. from UC Berkeley (1989).

Her research focuses on international and comparative law, legal research methodologies, and the application of digital tools to legal scholarship. She co-directs the University of Minnesota Human Rights Library online and developed the Electronic Information System for International Law (EISIL), a prominent web portal. Her professional contributions include teaching an international legal research seminar and leading initiatives to digitize and enhance access to legal resources globally. Hoffman’s work bridges traditional legal scholarship with modern digital platforms, emphasizing accessibility and innovation in legal information management.
