Aaron Martinez serves as an Adjunct Professor of Woodwind Techniques at Sam Houston State University's School of Music, specifically in the Winds division. He simultaneously holds a faculty position teaching Applied Woodwinds at Houston Baptist University. Martinez earned both his Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Master of Music in Saxophone Performance from Sam Houston State University under Dr. Scott D. Plugge.
His research and professional focus encompasses woodwind pedagogy, performance techniques across multiple instruments (saxophone, flute, clarinet), and orchestral doubling practices. Martinez maintains an active studio of over 60 students spanning K-12 to collegiate levels, emphasizing technical mastery and performance versatility.
As a professional performer, he regularly appears with the Kingwood Pops Orchestra, Woodlands Symphony Orchestra, Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra, and various theater productions as a woodwind doubler. Notable engagements include international solo performances with the Kingwood Chorale, appearances at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention, and collaborations with the Houston Grand Opera.
