Stacey Jamison serves as a Lecturer of Music, Applied Bassoon at Oakland University's School of Music, Theatre and Dance, teaching Applied Bassoon and Woodwind Methods while mentoring students in the Oakland Symphony Orchestra's bassoon section.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Bassoon Performance and Music Education from Ithaca College and a Master's degree in Bassoon Performance from Oakland University, studying under Marcus Schoon, Lee Goodhew, and Daryl Durran.
Her professional focus centers on woodwind performance across bassoon, flute, saxophone, and clarinet, coupled with comprehensive music education. As a versatile woodwind doubler, she performs in professional and community music theater productions throughout Southeast Michigan and Western Ontario. She maintains an active private studio since 2004, preparing students for All-State auditions and college applications, and serves as woodwind instructor for the championship-winning Ferndale High School Marching Band and other Metro Detroit band programs.
Prior to her current roles, she taught Elementary General Music and Band in public schools for eight years, presenting at the Michigan Music Conference with an African Drumming Ensemble. She currently leads children's music ministry at her Ferndale church.
