Aaron Lieberman is an Associate Professor of Human Development and Leadership at Long Island University. With nearly two decades of experience in the New York City Department of Education, he has extensive roles in special education oversight, mediations, and impartial hearings. His clinical background includes work in residential treatment centers, community mental health agencies, and private practice. He holds licenses as a LMHC and LCSW-R in New York State.
Dr. Lieberman earned his B.S. from Brooklyn College (CUNY), and M.S.W. and D.S.W. degrees from Yeshiva University. His research focuses on school administration, psycho-social aspects of disability, educational technology integration, and professional role clarification in counseling.
His publications explore topics like role clarity for school counselors and innovative uses of film in teaching. He has contributed to textbooks on physical rehabilitation and psycho-social adaptation. Recent work emphasizes technology's role in modern pedagogy and leadership challenges in educational settings.
