Joel Benjamin

Joel Benjamin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Film, Video, Animation & New Genres at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He holds an MFA in Film from UW-Milwaukee and creates animated films exploring utopian projects and introspective landscapes through various techniques including drawn animation, stop motion, and VR.

His work has been exhibited internationally at venues including Museum of the Moving Image, International Film Festival Rotterdam, and Ann Arbor Film Festival, where he has received multiple awards. He was recently a fellow at UW-Milwaukee's Center for 21st Century Studies.
