Ben Balcom

Ben Balcom is an Assistant Professor and Chair of the Programming Committee in the Department of Film, Video, Animation & New Genres at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he earned his MFA. His creative practice explores utopian spaces and introspective landscapes through animated films combining narrative and non-narrative approaches.

His work has screened internationally at venues including Museum of the Moving Image, International Film Festival Rotterdam, and Ann Arbor Film Festival, where he has received multiple awards. He was recently a fellow at UW-Milwaukee's Center for 21st Century Studies.
