Dr. Janice A. Gasker is a Professor and Director of the Baccalaureate Social Work Program at Kutztown University. She co-founded the Master of Social Work program and oversees its field education component. As a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers, she brings over 39 years of practice experience in developmental disabilities, adolescent/family therapy, and clinical supervision. She holds a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania and degrees from Marywood College and Cedar Crest College.
Her professional involvement includes roles with the Council on Social Work Education, Baccalaureate Program Directors' Association, and Pennsylvania Association of Undergraduate Social Work Education. Dr. Gasker is an award-winning author of a Sage Publications textbook on generalist social work practice and has been actively engaged in curriculum development and pedagogical research. Her consulting work focuses on human service agency staff/program development and legislative advocacy for social workers.
