Anthony Swainson is a Senior Lecturer in Brass at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, specializing in low brass performance and pedagogy. Formerly Principal Tuba of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, he transitioned to focus on teaching, conducting, and composition in 1997. His career spans over 50 years, including roles with the Halle Orchestra and collaborations with orchestras across Scotland.

Research interests include brass pedagogy, orchestral performance practices, and composition/arranging for brass ensembles. His works are performed globally by leading brass artists.
