Mark O’Keeffe is a Visiting Professor of Trumpet at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) and holds the position of Principal Trumpet with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra since 1996. He is a distinguished performer, soloist, and advocate for contemporary music, collaborating with ensembles like the London Sinfonietta and London Symphony Orchestra. Educated at the Cork School of Music and RNCM, he won the RTE Musician of the Future competition in 1992. His career spans orchestral leadership, chamber music, and recordings for Delphian Records. Awards include Creative Scotland’s 2003 prize. He also teaches at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and completed a Master’s in trumpet performance there with distinction.
