Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şakir FURAL is a Turkish geographer specializing in Ecology, Geomorphology, and Physical Geography of Türkiye. Affiliated with Kırşehir Ahi Evran University (Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Geography) since 2022, he previously worked at the same university from 2015-2022 as a Research Assistant. His research focuses on ecological risk assessment using GIS, toxic element contamination in aquatic ecosystems, and geomorphic hazards like floods and landslides.
His recent publications examine spatial-temporal pollution patterns in Turkish lakes and dams, with a particular emphasis on potentially toxic elements (PTEs) and their human health implications.
