Yunus Emre MUTLU is a researcher at Sakarya University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Geography. With a PhD in Geography from Balıkesir University (2020), he specializes in geomorphology and environmental risk assessment.

His research focuses on coastal geomorphology, soil erosion prediction, and ecological risk assessment in lagoon systems. Current projects examine metal contamination in Edremit and Havran lagoons, using GIS and RUSLE modeling.
Recent publications include: Vegetation History of Karacabey Longoz Forest (2024), Element-based ecological risk assessment (2023), and Flood risk analysis in Değirmendere Basin (2019). He has presented at international symposia including the 2019 International Geomorphology Symposium.
As an educator, he teaches cartography, geomorphology, and GIS applications. He also serves as academic president of Sakarya University Geography Society (2022) and participates in editorial/review activities for journals like Turkish Journal of Remote Sensing and GIS (2023).
