Dr. Murat POYRAZ is an Assistant Professor (Doktor Öğretim Üyesi) in the Department of Geography at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Ahi Evran University, Türkiye. He has been affiliated with the university since 2009, progressing from Research Assistant to his current role. His academic leadership includes serving as Department Head (2023-2024) and Board Member (2025-present).

His work integrates field studies with advanced GIS techniques to model landscape dynamics in Anatolia.
Publications emphasize karst geomorphology (sinkholes, dolines), glacial-karst interactions, and human-environment relationships in Türkiye, frequently employing geospatial modeling for risk assessment and morphological analysis.
