Aron Gauti Laxdal is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education at the University of Agder (UiA). His research focuses on sports performance analysis, physical education pedagogy, and athlete development, with a particular emphasis on handball biomechanics, inclusive education, and sustainable sports practices. He is affiliated with the ROPE Research Group (Research in Outdoor and Physical Education) and has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed articles and books. Research interests include analyzing left-handedness in sports performance, the impact of music on athletic performance, and the sociocultural dimensions of physical education. He has conducted studies on adaptive teaching strategies for visually impaired students in outdoor programs and the travel sustainability of youth soccer players. His publications span topics from 7-meter throw efficacy in handball to gender representation in sports research. Laxdal frequently engages with public discourse through newspapers like Fædrelandsvennen and VG , addressing issues like physical education reforms and ethical coaching practices. He co-authored the textbook Bevegelsesaktiviteter i kroppsøving - en fagdidaktisk grunnbok (2024), emphasizing evidence-based teaching methods.
