Tejaswinee Kelkar is an Associate Professor in Music Technology at the University of Oslo's Department of Musicology (Faculty of Humanities). She leads research in musical embodiment, motion capture, and multimodal analysis at the RITMO Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Music. Her work bridges music cognition, technology, and cultural studies, focusing on how bodily engagement shapes melodic perception and linguistic prosody.
Teaching includes courses like 'Motion Capture' (MCT4053), 'Sound and Music Programming', and 'Music, Technology, and Society'. She integrates her Hindustani classical singing background with digital tools to explore disembodied voice and interactive systems. Notable projects include the Resonance Improviser system and the VLabs pedagogical platform.
