Susanne Winterling

Susanne Winterling is a Professor of Art and Craft at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHIO), affiliated with the Department of Arts and Crafts within the Faculty of Arts and Crafts. Her work bridges artistic practice with interdisciplinary research in environmental studies, planetary aesthetics, and climate science.

Winterling's research focuses on planetary sensing, Arctic soundscapes, and the intersection of art with ecological and scientific inquiry. She has curated exhibitions like The Atlantic: Myths, Art, Science (2024) and delivered lectures on topics such as Art and the Planetary (2023), emphasizing embodied perception and transdisciplinary collaboration. Her practice includes installations like Hausputz/ Blockadia Tiefsee (2023) and sound-based works exploring silence and environmental thresholds.
