Dr. Elif ÇELİK is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Preclinical Sciences at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kafkas University, Turkey, where she has served since 2017. She previously worked as a Research Assistant at Kafkas University's Institute of Health Sciences from 2010 to 2016. Her educational background includes a Doctorate in Veterinary Microbiology (2010-2016), Master's Degree in Veterinary Microbiology (2006-2010), and Bachelor's degree in Biology (2002-2006), all from Turkish institutions. Dr. ÇELİK's research focuses on veterinary microbiology with emphasis on bacterial pathogens affecting animals and public health. Her work spans zoonotic diseases, food safety, molecular identification techniques, antibiotic resistance patterns, and epidemiology of bacterial infections. She has made significant contributions to understanding pathogens like Bacillus anthracis , Brucella species, Arcobacter , and various other bacterial agents affecting livestock. Analysis of her recent publications reveals a strong focus on molecular characterization of bacterial pathogens, particularly those causing reproductive issues in livestock, food safety concerns, and zoonotic potential. Her work demonstrates growing expertise in molecular epidemiology techniques and their application to veterinary public health problems in Eastern Turkey. Dr. ÇELİK has successfully mentored doctoral students including Gamze Parlak Kara (2025) and Seda Çitil (2022), both working on molecular identification of pathogens in poultry and livestock. She has participated in numerous research projects related to food safety, bacterial pathogen identification, and zoonotic disease control, often collaborating with international researchers from institutions including Cardiff University and Georgian public health organizations.
