Dr. Tanya Saroj Bakhru is a Professor in the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program at San José State University, affiliated with the Department of Sociology & Interdisciplinary Social Science in the College of Social Science. Her research focuses on feminist critiques of globalization, reproductive health and justice, and transnational women’s health. Education: PhD in Women's Studies (2007), University College Dublin; MA in Women's Studies (2003), San Diego State University; BM in Violin Performance (2001), University of Redlands Dr. Bakhru’s recent work explores reproductive justice in transnational contexts, including ethical frameworks in adoption/foster care, global health policies, and feminist pedagogy. Her publications often intersect gender, human rights, and social equity. The articles reflect trends in reproductive justice, transnational feminist research, and critiques of neoliberal discourses. Key subfields include global health policy, gendered violence in conflict zones, and inclusive frameworks for reproductive rights.
