Duncan Morrow is Professor and Director of Community Engagement at Ulster University's School of Applied Social and Policy Sciences (Department of Social Work and Social Policy). He leads university-community partnerships while maintaining an active research profile in conflict studies. His career bridges academia and policy, having served as CEO of Northern Ireland's Community Relations Council and chaired Scottish Government advisory groups on sectarianism and hate crime prevention.
Morrow's research examines the intersection of religion, politics and conflict, with special focus on Northern Ireland. Recent publications analyze reconciliation challenges in post-agreement societies, ontological security in divided communities, and socioeconomic impacts of crises like COVID-19. His work employs interdisciplinary approaches drawing from political science, sociology, and peace studies.
