Joanne Conlon is a Senior Lecturer in Fashion Business & Technology and Programme Director (postgraduate taught studies) at the University of Huddersfield. She holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) and Master of Education from the same institution, alongside a BSc (Hons) Textile Technology (Dye Chemistry) from UMIST. Her research focuses on sustainable supply chain management, digital technologies (e.g., PLM, CAD/CAM), and their impact on fashion education and industry practices. She co-authored 'Digital Fashion Business: Technology and Innovation across the Fashion Industry' (Routledge, 2024) and has led Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) projects. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Fellow of the Textile Institute (TI), serving on its council since 2022. Her industrial career spanned 18 years in roles like Production Control Manager and Technical Sourcing Manager, emphasizing sustainable systems and global supply chain innovation. She has collaborated with brands such as Marks & Spencer, Dunnes Stores, and Liberty, and advised on design collections with Blanc Bleu, Joseph, and David Beckham. She was an External Examiner at Manchester Metropolitan University from 2018–2022. Her academic leadership includes strategic teaching initiatives and fostering industry partnerships. Her work aligns with UN SDGs for sustainable development and education. Notable recognition includes the Best Conceptualisation Paper Award (2024) and participation in the Masood Entrepreneurship Centre’s Researcher to Innovator programme.
