Dalia GESUALDI-FECTEAU is a Full Professor (Professeure titulaire) at the École de relations industrielles within the Faculté des arts et des sciences at the Université de Montréal. Her research focuses on public policies in labor and employment, access to law and justice, and the challenges faced by precarious workers. She holds a PhD in Law from the Université de Montréal (2015). Education: Doctorat en Droit, Université de Montréal (2015) Research Interests: She examines labor law effectiveness, migrant workers' rights, temporary foreign worker programs, labor inspection, and work time regulation. Her work bridges legal frameworks with socio-legal analysis, emphasizing structural barriers to justice. Key Projects: Lead researcher in the CRIMT (Centre de recherche interuniversitaire sur la mondialisation et le travail), focusing on labor fragmentation and justice access. Investigates the impact of Quebec’s new forestry regime on Indigenous workers' conditions. Awards: 2016: Best Doctoral Thesis Prize, Association Henri-Capitant and Université de Montréal. 2021-2023: Chair on the Effectiveness of Labor Law at UQAM. Teaching & Supervision: Teaches courses like Modèles du droit du travail québécois and oversees over 12 thesis students. Current research includes labor conditions in the pandemic and migrant worker protections. Affiliations: Member of the Quebec Ethics Commission and CCSM/IRCC advisory boards. Director of the CRIMT and member of ADAJ (Access to Law and Justice). Publications: Over 30 peer-reviewed articles and books, including analyses of labor law fragmentation and pandemic-era work regulations.
