Darya Igorevna Zinchenko serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Department of Applied Economics, and as a Junior Research Fellow at the Center for Labor Studies (ЦеТИ) at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE). She began her work at HSE in 2017 and has established herself as a prominent researcher in labor economics with a focus on the Russian labor market. Dr. Zinchenko earned her Master's degree in Economics from HSE in 2017, completed postgraduate studies in Economics in 2020, and defended her Candidate of Economic Sciences dissertation in 2023 titled "Assortative Marriage by Education Level: Types, Dynamics and Contribution to Income Inequality." Her educational background was further strengthened through participation in specialized programs including the RSSIA Summer School of Institutional Analysis, the VI International Summer School on Interdisciplinary Studies of Higher Education, and the XI Russian Summer School on Labor Economics. Her research spans critical areas of labor economics with particular focus on the Russian labor market, income inequality, economics of education, and applied econometrics. Zinchenko has conducted extensive research on educational assortative mating and its impact on income inequality, digital forms of employment, wage structures across different occupational groups, and the efficiency of higher education institutions. Her work often combines demographic and economic perspectives to analyze how educational expansion affects marriage patterns and income distribution in Russia. Zinchenko's recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on contemporary labor market dynamics in Russia, particularly examining digital employment forms, educational assortative mating, and wage structures. Her research consistently addresses how education influences labor market outcomes, family formation, and economic inequality, with increasing attention to emerging work arrangements like remote and platform employment.
