Abdul-Khaliq Murtadha is an Assistant Professor and Co-director of Mosaic Theatre Company at Auburn University's Department of Theatre and Dance (College of Liberal Arts). He holds an MFA from UC San Diego and a BA from Indiana University. His work focuses on inclusive excellence, equity, and social justice through theatre, combining academic teaching with professional practice. Education: MFA, University of California, San Diego BA (Honors), Indiana University, Bloomington Research interests include transformative theatre education, Linklater voice technique, and socially engaged performance methodologies. He co-directs Mosaic Theatre Company, creating original works addressing contemporary societal issues. His pedagogical approach integrates Stanislavski, Meisner, and Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed techniques. Awards highlight his impact in both performance (NAACP Ensemble Award) and film (New Orleans Short Film Festival). His professional experience spans regional theatres, film/TV roles (Days of Our Lives, NCIS-LA), and leadership in organizations like ARTI and Fonseca Theatre Company. Teaching responsibilities include Voice and Movement, Performance Techniques for Camera, and BFA studio intensives. He advises MFA students and leads outreach programs supporting K-12 education through the arts.
