Dr. Flavio Wanninger is a Lecturer in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering at ETH Zurich. His research focuses on post-tensioned timber structures, hardwood applications, and sustainable construction. He holds an MSc in Civil Engineering from ETH Zurich, specializing in Structural & Geotechnical Engineering. Key research areas include post-tensioned timber frames, connections with glued-in rods, and experimental analysis of structural behavior under various loads. His work has been published in journals like Engineering Structures and presented at conferences such as the World Conference on Timber Engineering and the International Conference on Structural Engineering, Mechanics and Computation. Recent projects include the development of post-tensioned timber frames for the ETH House of Natural Resources, emphasizing hardwood utilization and structural scalability. Collaborations with institutions like the Institute of Structural Engineering at ETH Zurich highlight his role in advancing timber engineering practices.
