She is currently exploring how Patagonian narratives inform Welsh decolonization and anti-racism policies, with a forthcoming book in September 2024. Recent publications span settler colonial theory, international governance, and critical citizenship. Notable trends include interdisciplinary approaches linking colonialism to contemporary political power structures and global historical contexts. Lucy supervises PhD students in Latin American politics, social movements, and decolonial studies. Her research impacts include a 2024 Welsh Government Culture Strategy Consultation submission. She has also contributed to media discussions on Welsh Patagonia's colonial legacy.
