Jennifer Suchland is an Associate Professor at The Ohio State University, affiliated with the Department of Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies. Her research focuses on the intersections of human rights, gendered violence, and postsocialist transitions in Russia, Eastern Europe, and the U.S.

Her work interrogates how anti-trafficking discourses collude with state violence and carceral systems, particularly in the context of neoliberal reforms and decolonial frameworks. Recent publications include analyses of "modern day slavery" rhetoric, ethno-nationalism in Russia, and transnational feminist collaborations. She has also contributed book reviews on topics ranging from Korean diaspora in Russia to critical race studies.
