Prof. Heike Baranowsky is a Professor of Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg, leading the Class for Fine Arts. Her academic career spans prestigious institutions including the Royal College of Art (London) and the National Academy of the Arts Bergen (Norway). She holds a Master of Arts in Fine Art and has held visiting artist roles internationally. Her research focuses on time, space, perception, and socio-cultural narratives through video, photography, and installation art. Awards include the Kulturpreis der Dr. Franz und Astrid Ritter-Stiftung (2025) and Bundespreis für Kunststudierende. She advises students in interdisciplinary practices, emphasizing artistic self-expression and critical discourse. Her class collaborates with international institutions and engages in projects like Walking and Talking (2013) and Coyote’s Burden Basket (2019).
