Jesús Costantino is an Associate Professor in the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of New Mexico. His research focuses on 20th and 21st century US literature, visual culture, media studies, and hemispheric American studies. He explores intersections between literary arts and visual media, including topics like prizefighting, architectural ruin, and fashion photography. His recent work includes analyzing forced disappearance through architectural and literary lenses, and co-editing a special issue on permadeath in gaming. His office is located in PAIS 1223.
Costantino’s scholarly contributions include Scraps in Black and White: Race, Boxing, and Media in the Segregation Era (forthcoming from Rutgers University Press), and peer-reviewed articles in journals such as ASAP/Journal, Journal of Gaming and Virtual Worlds, and American Literary Realism. His research bridges disciplines like cultural history, spatial studies, and digital humanities.
