Associate Professor Silvia Lampis is affiliated with the Department of Biotechnology at the University of Verona. She holds the academic position of Associate Professor in the BIOS-15/A - Microbiology academic sector and her research aligns with ERC-2024 research sector LS9_7 - Environmental biotechnology and bioengineering. Her primary research interests focus on Environmental Microbiology and Industrial Microbial Biotechnology , specifically examining interactions between microorganisms (bacteria and fungi) with metals, metalloids, and organic contaminants in terrestrial ecosystems. Her work spans several key areas: Agricultural and Soil Microbiology Environmental Microbiology and Bioremediation Microbial synthesis of nanomaterials Plant-soil-microorganism interactions Applications of microbial biotechnology for circular bioeconomy Professor Lampis leads research in microbial bioremediation of contaminated environments and the development of bio-synthesized nanostructures with potential applications in multiple fields including antimicrobial materials. Her research group focuses on Biotecnologie Microbiche e Microbiologia Ambientale (Microbial Biotechnologies and Environmental Microbiology). She has been involved in numerous significant research projects including SUSTAIN, PRIN 2022 on Biogenic nano-selenium fortified tomatoes, SUS-MIRRI, TriAZO-BioREM, and MI.DI.FEN.DO, demonstrating her expertise in environmental biotechnology applications. Professor Lampis teaches multiple courses across undergraduate and graduate programs, including Environmental Microbiology and Bioremediation, General Microbiology, Plant-Soil-Microorganism Interaction, Industrial Microbial Biotechnology, and Biotechnology for Circular Bioeconomy. She also serves on various departmental committees including the Teaching Committee and Commissione AQ Didattica.
