Brian Oxhorn, PhD, MSN, RN is the Dean and Associate Professor at Roseman University's College of Nursing. Prior roles include Director of the Simulation and Skills Laboratory (2012–present) and Assistant Professor (2012–2015). His career spans critical care nursing, emergency nursing, and academic administration. He holds a BS in Nursing (1992, University of Nevada-Reno), PhD in Pharmacology (2002, same institution), and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Connecticut (2003). His MSN in Nursing Education was earned at Drexel University (2005). Dr. Oxhorn's research focuses on nursing education innovation, simulation-based training, and healthcare administration. Key areas include: Development of high-fidelity simulation curricula for mental health competencies Pharmacology-driven signaling pathways in endothelial cells Policy analysis in health systems management His publications emphasize simulation efficacy (e.g., 2016 study on mental health skills) and foundational pharmacology work on caspase signaling (2001–2003). Presentations highlight simulation implementation strategies in nursing education. Awards include the 2003 George G. Bierkamper Outstanding Pharmacology Graduate Student Award. Leadership roles span AACN (2012–present), Nevada State Grassroots Liaisons (2022–present), and multiple national nursing organizations.
