Sonia Hélie is an Associate Professor at the School of Social Work (École de travail social) within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the University of Montreal, and a researcher at the Institut universitaire Jeunes en difficulté (IUJD). Her work focuses on youth protection, child maltreatment epidemiology, and placement trajectories of children in care. She has led major studies such as the Quebec Incidence Study on situations investigated by child protection services (Étude d’incidence québécoise) and the evaluation of the impact of Quebec’s Youth Protection Law.
