Cristina Urban serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at Cedar Crest College. With over 25 years of clinical experience as a pediatric occupational therapist, she works across early intervention, school-based programs, specialized preschools, and outpatient settings. She concurrently owns Urban Pediatric OT Services, a private practice delivering community-based parent-coaching for neurodivergent children in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Her academic credentials include: Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD), Chatham University, 2024 BS/MS in Occupational Therapy, Towson University, 2007 AS in Occupational Therapy, Delaware Technical & Community College, 2000 Dr. Urban specializes in parent coaching, self-regulation, and sensory processing within neuro-affirming, strengths-based frameworks. Holding dual certifications in Autism and ADHD, she champions the philosophy that neurodevelopmental differences represent natural variations rather than deficits. Her approach centers on empowering caregivers to implement strategies that enhance children's participation in family routines while respecting authentic self-expression and diverse communication styles. As an educator, she serves as Assistant Professor at Cedar Crest College and has held adjunct instructor roles in two additional occupational therapy programs. She maintains active membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association (POTA). Through Urban Pediatric OT Services, she provides home and community-based occupational therapy for children aged 3-10, addressing dressing, feeding, play, and social skills through family-centered collaboration.
