Professor Muhammad RUSTOM is a part-time Professor of Islamic Thought at Carleton University and Director of the Carleton Centre for the Study of Islam. His research focuses on Islamic philosophy, Sufism, Quranic exegesis, and cross-cultural philosophical dialogue. He has held significant academic distinctions including the Ibn ‘Arabi Society’s Tarjuman Prize and Iran’s World Prize for Literary Excellence. His editorial roles include Editor for Equinox Publishing’s Global Philosophy series and Commissioning Editor for the Journal of the Muhyiddin Ibn ‘Arabi Society. Rustom’s work bridges classical Islamic intellectual traditions with contemporary philosophical discourse. His major publications include *The Triumph of Mercy* (SUNY, 2012), a seminal study on Mulla Sadra, and co-editing the landmark *Study Quran* (HarperOne, 2015). He has also translated al-Ghazali’s *Condemnation of Pride* (2018), contributing to revitalizing classical ethical texts. His awards reflect recognition for both scholarship and outreach, including grants from Templeton Foundation and NYU Abu Dhabi. Rustom actively participates in global academic networks through editorial board memberships with NYU Press’ Library of Arabic Literature and other key institutions.
