Dr. Jafar Ojra is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting at the School of Management, Swansea University. He holds a PhD from Norwich Business School (2014), specializing in Management Accounting practices. His academic roles include Programme Director for MSc Accounting and Finance conversion programmes and supervision of MSc and PhD students in areas like management accounting and sustainability. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and recipient of the Excellence in Learning and Teaching Award (2018, 2023). Research interests span Strategic Management Accounting, Performance Measurement, Corporate Governance, Entrepreneurship, and SMEs. Notable collaborations include work on African minorities' entrepreneurship in the UK and cultural influences on internal audits. He has published in journals like Future Business Journal and International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business , alongside contributions to books on African entrepreneurship and marketing. Teaching modules include Accounting for Managers (MN-1003), Management Accounting 1A (MN-2051), and supervision of Independent Research Projects (MN-D023). His professional qualifications include Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA) status. Beyond academia, he is an avid marathon runner, raising funds for various causes since relocating to Swansea in 2014.
