Muhammad Ayat is a Lecturer in Engineering/Project Management at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS), part of the School of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences. He previously served as a Lecturer at Dawood University of Engineering and Technology and held roles in project monitoring and evaluation. He holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Hanyang University, an MEng from Sabanci University, and a BEng from Dawood University. His research focuses on integrating engineering techniques with project management, particularly in areas such as Private Participation in Infrastructure (PPI) Projects, Machine Learning Applications in Project Management, and Competency Development for Industry 4.0 and Circular Economy. He has received prestigious awards including the APM Doctorate of the Year Award 2023 and the Best PhD Thesis Award from Hanyang University. Education: PhD (Industrial Engineering), Hanyang University, South Korea MEng (Industrial Engineering), Sabanci University, Turkey BEng (Industrial Engineering), Dawood University, Pakistan His research articles explore themes such as PPI project success factors, blockchain in supply chains, and pandemic impacts on construction. He has advised 15 undergraduate and 17 master’s students and reviewed for Emerald Group journals. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing sustainable infrastructure and economic growth. Awards include scholarships from the Korean Government and Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission, reflecting his academic and professional achievements.
